As per the study published on Monday in JAMA Internal Medicine online, the women following the Mediterranean diet regimen can lower as slightly as 20% risk of hip fracture compared to those who ate regular food.
Dr. Bernhard Haring – a physician at the University of Wurzburg in Germany, had said that healthy diet precisely the Mediterranean-type diet can enhance your overall health preventing cardiovascular disease and cancer. He further stated that the Mediterranean diet is essential to strengthen the bones, thus lowering the peril of hip fracture.
He also investigated the information given by the Women’s Health Initiative study, which was long and intricate. It aimed to look at the well-being issues of postmenopausal ladies. The German experts examined approximately 90,000 healthy American women whose average age was 64. Later, after 16 years of tracking, it was found that though the Mediterranean diet could not lower the odds of fracture overall it had a slight effect on reducing the risk of hip fracture.
